Wednesday Wedding - 2014 Highlights

Our very first wedding with Megan and Josh, a beautiful couple who got married at the Tank18 Winery in San Francisco, April 2014.

We have the privelege of working many unique, gorgeous weddings all over California with Das Bus. We want to start sharing some of these beautiful experiences in a new blog series titled, "Wednesday Wedding". Quite an original title we know, but there's actually many relevant layers involving the etymology of the word "Wednesday".

StrangeLove with Das Bus at the Exploratorium

A guest referenced this quote to us while we were explaining StrangeLove to him at the Exploratorium last Thursday. It could not have been the more perfect reference. And he was a perfect stranger. The perfect stranger, really.

Where the Wild Things...

The past 8 months have been quite a whirlwind for Das Bus! We put the pedal to the metal, forging full speed ahead at a daring 55 mph, and started getting out to as many public events in the Bay Area as possible. We began with Jack of All Trades and Treasure Island Flea Market, both organized by one of the chillest, funniest families we’ve ever met, The Ansanellis. They took a chance and whole-heartedly embraced the concept and operation of Das Bus, allowing us to become a regular addition to their markets.

The Photo Booth Is Born

We finished the wood interior today and it looks fantastic because John is a MASTER craftsman. He covered the curves where the wheels are, matched the arc of the ceiling, cut the holes for the touch screen and camera, and behold - the Das Bus Photo Booth! It feels like you're stepping into a tree house or old wooden boat - which is EXACTLY what we want.

WORK

Did a lot of great work today. Hardwood floor is installed (real Tiger Wood rarrrr) and the back seat has been bolted in. All of these components are also removable, so NOTHING original is altered. We can also build several different floor plans and change them in and out as we please- pretty sweet eh!
