First Fridays Oakland

Das Bus is proud to call Oakland, CA home and our first public event ever, naturally, was First Friday in Downtown Oakland. For the most spontaneous collection of people, art, music, food, dance and culture, First Fridays delivers it all. We are downtown every First Friday of the month from 5pm - 9pm, usually stationed on Telegraph between 24th and 25th. We highly recommend you experience this amazing mini street festival. All you have to do is show up and see where the night takes you. Please come find us, take some photos, and we can point you in the right direction if you need it. : )

Off the Grid - Fort Mason

If you've lived in the Bay Area for any span of time, you know that Off the Grid is the OG of mobile food truck gatherings. Many would probably say it put food trucks "on the map" (irony is great) in a big way, and changed the way Bay Area residents buy, visit, and experience food.

Das Bus is incredibly fortunate to now be a part of this wildly popular mobile food market, posting up at the Fort Mason OtG two Fridays a month. You can find us by the bar just inside the front entrance. With over 32 food truck vendors, 2 bars, awesome live music, and yours truly there to commemorate- this is a local event not to be missed. Woods Bar & Brewery Pop-Up

Woods Bar & Brewery is a renown local brewery, bar, and lush indoor-outdoor beer garden in the heart of Uptown Oakland. The Oakland hotspot is the flagship location for owner/brewer Jim Woods, whose passion for craft brewing has founded three successful Woods locations in the Bay Area, featuring fresh, exciting, and experimental beers.

Das Bus had the honor of being a part of Woods' Cerveceria's 3rd birthday celebration in the Mission District in San Francisco, and knew we did not want to end there! Luckily, Jim mentioned how great it would be for Das Bus to pop up outside of his Oakland brewery and we jumped at the opportunity!

We try to stop by Woods on Telegraph a couple Fridays or Saturdays a month. You can usually find info about our whereabouts via Instagram or Twitter

After Dark at the Exploratorium

Join us for an evening at San Francisco's Exploratorium, experiencing photography’s evolution from analog to digital, looking at photographic printing techniques, and hearing from photographers about their art and craft and what makes an image memorable.

Das Bus is honored to be a part of this special event and will be debuting a very special project of it's own called "StrangeLove". Description below:

They say the more we are connected to our screens and devices, the less we are connected to our world and each other. With the StrangeLove experiment from Das Bus, we encourage you to connect with new people you've never met before on our screen, and let the magic of first-time interactions unfold through the photo booth experience. StrangeLove participants will receive their photo strips for free, and are encouraged to find as many new people as they can handle to enjoy the photo booth with.

Warning: human interactions may be strange, lovely, awkward, hilarious, inspiring, uncomfortable, ridiculous, unusual, or beautiful (among many other things). Engage at your own risk; may result in friendship.
